Alexa Ray Joel was rushed to the hospital after taking eight pills, in what appears to be a suicide attempt. Authorities would not release what type of pills were involved or who called 911, only to say it was a "friend".

Joel's publicist Claire Mercuri said Saturday, that Alexa was in stable condition and receiving treatment. "We are currently assessing her needs," she said.

Joel described herself as "forgotten" in a MySpace blog post this past summer and said she was finding it hard to meet a nice guy.

"Just Men. UGH!!! MEN!!!!" she wrote in August. "I'm so terrible at dating -- I don't know if I'll ever get used to it! And I HATE the game-playing! Can't stand it."

No other details are available at this time, but officials are investigating the overdose and Billy Joel has only said, "she is going to be fine."
