Former NFL star Warren Sapp was arrested by Miami Beach police after his girlfriend accused him of choking her, authorities said. The woman also said she was sleeping with Sapp pulled her out of bed and demanded she leave.

Sapp, formerly a player with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Oakland Raiders, was charged with misdemeanor domestic battery after both parties were questioned by police.

He was released from the Miami-Dade County jail Saturday evening after posting $1500 bail.
