Sign Up - Creating a New Account

Signing up at You Scoop it couldn't be easier. Simply click the link you see at the top of any page, fill out the quick form that follows and then you're headed to your Account Settings to tell us about yourself.

Now you'll have access to all of the features and tools that we offer...

Sign In - Easy and Secure

When you want to sign in to your You Scoop it account, simply click the button that you see at the top of any page. Enter the email address you signed up with and your password - then you're good to go.

Get out there and start scooping!

Navigation Bar

When signed in, your name will appear on the left side of the Navigation Bar, along side a host of options to Upload, go to your Desk, view your Watercooler and even a real time indicator of your Messages.

News or Reviews?

At any time, you can switch between the News and Reviews section of You Scoop it, by clicking the buttons next to our logo at the top.

Searching for Scoops

Feel free to search for any scoops that might have been posted on our network. We are currently beta testing new search features, so please be patient with us.

Uploading a New Scoop

After you've signed in, you'll have access to upload a new scoop. After you click Upload, another window will pop-up and ask you which type of scoop you're submitting. Easy as 1-2-3!

Editing your own Scoop

After signing in, you'll have access to edit the text of any of your scoops. Simply click the link you see to your right, which will be located just below the title of your scoop.

Updating someone else's Scoop

This can be a very useful feature, especially when the scoop is a news event that needs fresh information. All you have to do is click Add an Update and/or Add more Pictures from the Scoop Menu, when you're signed in.

Scoop Menu

This menu can be found on every scoop, and is a very useful tool when you want to Add an Update, Add more Pictures, Follow/Unfollow people and Flag a Scoop for inappropriate content.

This menu will only show when you're signed in, otherwise you'll only have the option to view the author's desk.

My Desk - The Social Network

From here you can post your Status Updates, Mini-Scoops, view who you're Following and who's Following you. You can also Change your Picture, view your Inbox, Watercooler, and view all of your scoops and Badges you've earned.

Status Updates & Mini-Scoops

Just type your status or Mini-Scoop in the box, select Status Update or Mini-Scoop from the drop down menu and click 'Update'.

Each status update or Mini-Scoop can be up to (140) characters in length.

Following & Followers

One of the great things about You Scoop it is the ability to follow your friends or favorite writers and reviewers. By following them, you're automatically kept in the loop when they post new content and vice versa.

Changing your Picture

Changing your picture is done by simply clicking the link at the top of your Desk and then selecting a new photo to upload. We currently only allow for each account to have (1) picture, but that will soon change.

There's a Badge for that!

Another exciting feature of You Scoop it is your ability to earn Badges for various things you do. Whether it's your first Video Scoop or your 100th Follower, there's always a new Badge to earn. (Currently in development and beta testing.)

Scoop Portfolios

Want to keep track of all of the scoops you've written? No problem! From the Navigation Bar you can access your News & Review Portfolios. From here you can easiy view, read and edit all of your scoops.

Account Settings

This is the area where you make changes to your You Scoop it account and it's the first area you're taken to right after you sign up. From here you can change things like your Nickname, Email, Shout Out and even your Favorite YouTube Video.

This area can be accessed from the Navigation Menu.

Account Settings Menu

From this menu you can access all the sections to your Account Settings. Most of these sections are pretty self-explanatory, however the Details section is probably the most important.

From here you can tell everyone about your favorite things, fill in the blanks of your life and even post your Favorite YouTube Video or video about yourself!

Favorite YouTube Video

Everyone has a favorite video on YouTube, probably more than one actually. From your Account Settings, click on Details from the Account Settings Menu and tell us about your favorite video.

Feel free to post a video about yourself!

My Watercooler - What's happening...

This is the place to keep up with what's going on with the people you're following. Everything from their Status Updates & Mini-Scoops to their very own Scoops. This can be accessed from the Navigation Menu. (See below...)

Mini-Scoops

These are (140) character scoops that you can quickly share with everyone you know (or don't know). Ideal when you don't have time for a full scoop or when it's something more important than a status update.

Posting a Mini-Scoop

When signed in to My Desk, you can easily post a new Mini-Scoop by typing it into the box you see to your right, select Mini-Scoop from the drop down and hit 'Update'. This will immediately post to the Recent Mini-Scoops on the You Scoop it home page and to your follower's Watercooler's.

LiveWire

This is the blue bar that runs at the top of every page, just below the Navigation Bar. The LiveWire displays new and updated scoops, My Desk Changes and Mini-Scoops - all in real-time.
